For Sale by Owner is an extremely rare, unrestored, extremely low mileage totally original and unmolested 1968
Mercedes Benz 230S Heckflosse Sedan. This is the last year of the sought after Heckflosse or "Fintail" sedans. It
is my understanding that Mercedes intended to end production of the Heckflosse sedans in 1967 but had a few frames
and body panels left over and had a very limited production of 62 cars produced world-wide in 1968. This
particular car was sold new by European Motors on Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco. The original owner took
deliver of the car in Milan in September, 1967. I have all the original invoices including the European Delivery
Order, the dealer's invoice, the bill of sale from the Mercedes Factory data cards and stamps. This car has never
left California, comes with its original black plates and current registration and is totally rust free. To the
best of my knowledge and experts who have looked at it, all the body panels are original. Please take a look at
the pictures, they speak for themselves. This is a radio delete car, 4 speed full synchro manual transmission on
the column. All gauges work as they should including the clock and the cigarette lighter. The car cruises easily
at 60 - 65 mph and stops very well. It is currently located in Laguna Beach California, is always garaged and
needs nothing. I have driven it up Highway 1 to Santa Barbara a couple of times. It does not smoke or leak any
fluids and idles like a new car, starts on the first turn without fail. I do not have documentation on mileage but
have been advised by experts that it is accurate. Tires are excellent, have original jack, original seat belts in
the back and he front. I believe the spare to be original, all other tires are nearly new. I have a picture of
the runk included with the original liner removed. Can be seen by appointment.
This car has never been restored, it is original, all lenses are original, chrome is outstanding and I believe my
asking price accurately reflects the condition of this rare sedan. Cars are only new once and this is as close to
an original Heckflosse that I have ever seen. There may be other out there, I just haven't seen them. I have seen
restored Heckflosse sedans in Monterey during car week with 6 figure asking prices. Although a beautifully
restored, expensive and stunning, I prefer original unmolested well cared for cars
